The Asia-Pacific Poker Tour will host the APPT Macau at the City of Dreams. This major poker event had seen their scheduled altered and moved back a week from the dates that were initially announced. The event will be held from the 20th May to the 31st 2015 with a 12-day schedule comprising of 13 official Asia Player of the Year competitions. The major event would be a 3,200 dollars buy-in.
The President of the APPT, Danny McDonagh has stated that this event is a must-play tournament when it comes to the PokerStars Asia circuit. The Macau APPT event is ingrained in the history and is the longest running annual event for the tour. Some newly rolled changes would be seen this year, according to Danny McDonagh.
PokerStars will officially begin online satellites to the Main Event on March 16. They have already confirmed the presence of some of the PokerStars Pros players such as Bryan Huang, Celina Lin, Aditya Agarwal, former Cebu champion Vivian Im and Kosei Ichinose. There might also be a possibility that Randy Lew, who had won the event in 2011 would make a comeback. The news has not yet been confirmed.
The Season 8 event of the APPT Macau had received 494 players and the victorious player was Chinese Jiajun Liu with a HK$2,776,000 victory. The prize pool was estimated at HK$11 million for the whole tournament. These numbers are expected to be surpassed during Season 9 of this most awaited poker event.
